Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. She started her Broadway career with musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of acclaimed directors and actors in the stage and on television. The award-winning actress continues her career by working on new projects. Ashford's upcoming project is an exclusive Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford's upcoming film will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The production is led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who brought you Hamilton. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on an infamous national crime that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main actors. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the CBS popular comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also featured Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Also, she has appeared in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first character as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for an Tony Award. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and currently splits the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
